SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Social Service Manager, the driver shall provide transportation of the following service areas: Willard, Shiloh/Plymouth, Greenwich, North Fairfield, Attica, and New Washington including all links of Mercy Willard Hospital with the offsite MWH medical office buildings.

KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Requires ability to follow oral and written directions normally acquired through the completion of high school.

• Requires valid driver’s license with no serious traffic violations (as defined by the MHP insurance provider).

• Maintains AHA CPR certification and First Aid.

• Requires a tolerance of stressful work environment and the ability to maintain a predetermined transport schedule.

• Good organizational skills and legible reporting.

• Position requires corrected vision, corrected hearing, use of two hands and two feet, standing, bending, stooping kneeling, wisting, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling.

• Must possess the physical capacity to walk long distances, deal with inclement weather, perform repetitive duties and lift parcels in excess of 50 pounds.

• Training of Blood Borne Pathogens required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne disease.

• Has contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.

• May be exposed to patient elements.

• Subject to varying and unpredictable work situations.

• Requires flexibility in work hours.
