Description

Trainer 2ndShift

The overall purpose of this position is to be responsible for the training of newly hired employees and temporary associates on warehouse operations positions and the cross-training of existing employees into other positions in both Sewell & West Deptford warehouses. The Trainer is also responsible for observing and evaluating existing staff and providing refresher training when needed. This key role in the organization will help to develop staff which will aid in the reduction of errors, turnover, and the increase of customer satisfaction. This position will report directly to the Lean Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • The position is working Sunday through Thursday.

  • Conducts both classroom and on-the-job training, covering specific jobs/tasks.

  • Must become proficient with all operations positions in order to provide thorough training to employees.

  • Continuous evaluation of new and existing employees, to determine if additional or refresher training will be needed.

  • Continues to assist employees with problems concerning how to perform specific tasks related to their positions.

  • Provide feedback/suggestions to the Lean Manager on improving work procedures and training materials.

    Work Environment:

    This position operates in a non-climate controlled warehouse and cooler environment (34 degrees). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, printers as well as RF scanners.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and read. This position is very active and requires standing for periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and operating equipment. The employee must be able to lift and or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operations position preferred.

  • RF Scanning experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including speaking in front of a classroom setting.

  • Past experience as a trainer preferred

  • Good computer skills with experience using Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Impeccable attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

  • Bilingual (English to Spanish) a plus.
