JCB Inc. Planner Supervisor in Pooler, Georgia

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for managing a team of planning specialists and overseeing the regulation of machine parts and current inventory levels.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for Savannah production lines, approximately 6,000 part numbers across approximately 400 suppliers
  • Ensure appropriate process and systems are implemented to effectively manage routine supply chain planning.
  • Ensure SAP transactional performance is adhered to.
  • Ensure all company policies is adhered to
  • Supply Chain Management, to schedule adherence
  • Leadership of Material Planners against measured KPIs
  • Reduce and maintain POF misses
  • Transaction control with SAP across team members
  • Parked invoice and booking log management
  • Lead and support the training and maintenance of MRP and planning skills within the organization.
  • Actively contribute to the development and support of material planning processes and benchmark against best practice and review ways to make continuous improvements.

  • Supplier Arrears against KPI
  • Inventory Management
  • Manage the planning of individual part parameters to meet corporate goals of inventory levels
  • Communicate with suppliers and ensure timely shipping and parts supply
  • Oversee the expediting of parts as required due to inventory loss or discrepancy, quality rejects, misusage, etc.
  • Liaise with other areas to ensure resolution of any known supplier/material issues

Nature and Scope

Reports to Material Planning Manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
  • Five years of experience in inventory control, planning, purchasing or expediting for a manufacturing facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Six years of experience in inventory control, planning or expediting for a manufacturing environment
  • Two years of supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Take direction well and work with minimal supervision
  • Good analytical skills with strong problem solving abilities

  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Familiar with a variety of production control concepts, practices and procedures
  • Ability to monitor and control the delivery of production parts throughout the supply chain
  • React proactively to parts shortages in order to ensure uninterrupted production of machines to customers

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including but not limited to 12 hour shifts/7 days a week.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including: hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
