We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Tax Manager – Global Tax Audits to join GE Vernova. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of global tax audits, as well as assisting in tax planning initiatives with an audit lens. You will work closely with the finance and accounting departments to identify areas of potential risk and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Your expertise and strategic guidance will contribute to optimizing our tax position and ensuring compliance with global tax laws.

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement Global Tax Audit compliance strategies to ensure the company's compliance with all relevant global tax laws and regulations.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and/or external tax return preparers to ensure compliance requirements are timely met, including coordinating information requests between internal/external stakeholders and reviewing Vernova inputs/ computations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for larger tax audit inquiries, coordinating with the Vernova Tax Operations Team to respond to requests for information and supporting documentation.

  • Evaluate tax return positions and monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate those changes to the finance and accounting departments.

  • Identify areas of potential tax risk and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.

  • Manage relationships with external consultants and other stakeholders as necessary.

  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the tax team, as well as other departments within the organization.

  • Provide strategic guidance and support in negotiating and resolving tax audit disputes with tax authorities.

  • Collaborate across Vernova Tax Operations Team to provide training and share best practices.

  • Drive and be involved in global projects, interact with cross-functional teams within the organization

  • Supervise and train newcomers and analysts

  • Additional taxation related tasks as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in taxation, preferably in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.

  • In-depth knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements and a broad understanding of various global taxation systems.

  • Strong understanding of tax audit procedures, practices, and strategies.

  • Proven experience in successfully managing complex tax audits and disputes with tax authorities.

  • Experience in tax reporting, tax strategy development, and tax risk management.

  • Written and verbal fluency in English. Additional language skills are a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to analyze complex tax compliance issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the company's goals and objectives.

  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to implement tax compliance strategies and plans.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

If contracted in the US:

The salary range for this position is 172,900 - 288,100 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
