100% remote job! Large utility is looking for a Project Cost Controller to support their high voltage distribution projects in Jackson, MI. The Project Cost Controller is responsible for meticulously managing project costs, including forecasting, contract compliance, financial reporting, and change control. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm. Apply Now!

responsibilities:

  • Track and control costs associated with one or more employer's projects.

  • Develop monthly, annual, and project lifetime cost forecasts.

  • Plan and manage contractor project controls deliverables in line with contractual requirements.

  • Assemble project financial status reports.

  • Manage and administer project change control activities.

  • Analyze project costs to support project management decision-making.

  • Communicate project financial performance with upper management.

  • Serve as the primary project cost controller on large projects or portfolios, with the potential to also serve in a supporting role.

Skills:

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.

  • Knowledge of project controls methodologies and cost forecasting.

  • Understanding of interpreting engineering and construction contracts.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to interpret project schedules for cost forecasting.

  • Proficiency in basic computing skills and Excel spreadsheets.

  • Experience using SAP (desirable but not required).

Education and Experience:

  • Higher education in construction/project management, engineering, business, accounting, or finance.

  • Several years of experience implementing project controls methodologies on large-scale construction projects.

  • Certifications from PMI or AACE are advantageous.

  • Experience with high voltage distribution projects is highly preferred
