Category Strategy Analyst

Newark, NJ

Responsible for supporting analysis, reporting, and software applications for the Category Strategy Team across Perfect Store and ad hoc analytic projects. This role partners across Category Leadership, Customer Marketing, and technical teams to deliver annual Portfolio Priorities and leads the development of the Perfect Store Dashboard.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Perfect Store & Analytics, this role is part of the Category Leadership organization.

What are we looking for?
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year of experience in Sales, Trade, Retail Sales, or Category Management
1 year business analytics experience in CPG industry
Demonstrated success in analytical roles that leverage data and analytical thinking to solve problems and generate recommendations for the business
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead others to deliver mutually beneficial solutions
Foundational understanding of Nielsen/IRI syndicated data
Strong project planning, communication, and attention to detail
Demonstrated intellectual agility


Preferred Qualifications:
In-Store Merchandising and activation experience
Understanding of Category Management process


What will be your key responsibilities?
Support Perfect Store Program Development, Deployment, and Performance
Annual Program design, data integration, and Dashboard updates with technical team
Lead communication of monthly Perfect Store Newsletter & Dashboard to field Sales
Drive understanding of Perfect Store Program; support local activation plans and opportunities
Embed PS capabilities by partnering with Sales & Category teams through training and insights sharing
Support facilitation of Perfect Store Meetings with field teams, Global, and annual design process


Provide analysis to Lead and Partner across Category Strategy Initiatives
Lead Channel Priority List process in partnership with Customer Marketing, Sales, Category, and Marketing teams
Support Category Strategy Team with analytics on key ad hoc projects
Support the development of distribution gap tracking to quantify the size of the prize for closing voids
Collaborate with the Line Manager to establish project plans and milestones for key initiatives
Maintain Captaincy & Shelving Tracker across Department


Leverage analytical tools and capabilities to generate value for Category Department
Nielsen/IRI syndicated data sources for analysis
Power Apps and Power BI applications for capturing customer performance
Support key projects for Category Leadership VP
