Keurig Dr Pepper Roaster in Knoxville, Tennessee

Job Overview

Roaster Level 1 - Knoxville, TN

You will operate coffee roasting equipment. You will work as part of a team to strive for optimum performance from the roasters and other coffee processing equipment. You will verify, load, and transfer green bean inventory to bin system. You will perform real time quality checks for each batch in process to ensure that each roast meets our quality standards. You will be charged with learning all aspects of coffee production from tree to cup.

Shift / Schedule: This position will work N2 Friday-Sunday, alt Thursday 6:00pm-6:15am . Flexibility and availability to work Saturdays, overtime and holidays based on business needs.

What you will do:

  • Perform daily startup routine.

  • Walk through inspection with Maintenance.

  • Warm up the roasters.

  • Position for execution of the daily production schedule.

  • Roast green beans to schedule as well as desired Agtron specifications and roasting time.

  • Perform quality checks of each batch to ensure that they meet quality standards.

  • Observe the profile automation system for deviations of the preset profiles.

  • Perform moisture, and Agtron analysis and record findings.

  • Perform sensory evaluation (taste and visual)

  • Ensure correct green bean is loaded into the allocated bin and inventory all of the bins.

  • Have clear understanding of the origin of coffee, decaf processes, Keurig Dr Pepper blends, and roasting technology.

  • Verify roasters are working and troubleshoot when problems arise.

  • Conduct all transactions necessary using PeopleSoft as well as other computer software.

  • Monitor equipment for proper performance.

  • Be a productive member of the coffee processing team.

  • Coordinate with other shifts and provide assistance in other areas as needed.

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment.

  • Must be able to operate a fork lift safely.

  • Must be a productive member of the tasting team.

  • Ensure the staff is aware of their responsibility to report food safety, quality and regulatory compliance to plant or division personnel with authority to initiate action.

  • Responsible for ensuring the production of a safe, wholesome and quality product and requires trained designees when applicable.

  • Performs other duties as requested by management

  • Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures

Total Rewards

  • Pay starting at $23.81 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $25.00 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of thermodynamics would be beneficial.

  • Must attain the ability to multi task.

  • Strong computer skills and understanding of networking a must.

  • Must have basic knowledge of mechanics (machine operator experience preferred)

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Must have strong communication skills.

  • Ability to uphold Safety standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our Manufacturing best practices.

  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions.

  • Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles.

  • Must attend fire safety training.

  • Must be able to work long shifts

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be able to work in and around temperatures ranging from 30 to 110 degrees F
