Job Description:

As a Director of Infrastructure and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization’s technology landscape. Your responsibilities will span across strategic planning, operational excellence, and team leadership. Here’s an expanded view of your role:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field of study preferred.

Work Experiences:

  • 10+ years of IT experience.

  • 5+ years of management experience.

  • Understanding of a customer service environment and KPI’s.

  • Proven track record of successful IT project management.

Skills:

Required Skills:

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in cloud technologies (GCP, Azure), disaster recovery, and virtualization.

  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.

  • Understanding of emerging technologies and SQL.

Architecture and Design:

  • Ability to implement and manage infrastructure and network architecture.

  • Direct architecture design and development efforts.

  • Improve business application performance through architectural enhancements.

Project Management:

  • Proficiency in project planning, execution, and delivery.

  • Track record of successful project implementations.

Communication and Leadership:

  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders.

  • Participatory management style that promotes honesty, openness, and collaboration.

Problem-Solving and Strategic Thinking:

  • Analytical mindset for addressing complex challenges.

  • Strategic vision to align infrastructure decisions with long-term goals.

Additional Recommended Skills:

ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library): Familiarity with IT service management best practices. Security Awareness: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management. Telephony: Familiarity with telecommunication systems, SDWAN, MPLS, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), and call center technologies. Understanding how to integrate telephony solutions into the overall infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

  • Develop and execute strategies for maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services.

  • Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of infrastructure components.

  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to optimize technology solutions.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) Leadership:

  • Work closely with our Enterprise Architecture team to define and drive the infrastructure strategy, aligning business objectives with IT infrastructure and technology solutions.

  • Establish governance frameworks, technology roadmaps, and portfolio management approaches.

  • Leverage architecture principles to guide infrastructure decisions and investments.

Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development:

  • Create a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with organizational goals.

  • Identify emerging trends, evaluate their impact, and incorporate them into the roadmap.

  • Prioritize initiatives based on business value, risk, and resource availability.

Team Development and Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure professionals.

  • Foster a collaborative work environment, emphasizing continuous learning and growth.

  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and promote a culture of excellence.

Equipment Lifecycle Management:

  • Implement best practices for equipment procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.

  • Optimize equipment usage, minimize downtime, and manage costs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless equipment lifecycle processes.

Vulnerability and Patch Management:

  • Establish processes for identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities in infrastructure components.

  • Collaborate with security teams to prioritize patch deployment and mitigate risks.

  • Monitor security advisories and stay informed about emerging threats.

SOX Compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act):

  • Ensure adherence to SOX requirements related to IT controls, data integrity, and financial reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal audit teams during audits and assessments.

  • Maintain documentation and evidence of compliance.

Disaster Recovery (DR) Planning:

  • Continue to define and enhance the ASO Disaster Recovery Strategy and establish a long-term roadmap.

  • Develop and maintain robust DR plans to safeguard critical systems and data.

  • Conduct regular DR drills and tests to validate readiness.

  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely recovery during disruptions.

Service Delivery and Quality Assurance:

  • The Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.

  • They monitor service levels, track performance metrics, and continuously improve service quality.

ITIL Framework Implementation:

  • Change Management - Assessing Change Requests: The Director evaluates proposed changes, considering their impact on existing systems, processes, and services.

  • Risk Management and Compliance—Managing risks related to IT operations is crucial. This involves identifying potential risks, assessing their impact, and developing mitigation strategies.

Third-Party Managed Services:

  • Evaluate and engage third-party vendors for managed services (e.g., monitoring, support, cloud management).

  • Monitor vendor performance, adherence to SLAs, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Leverage external expertise to enhance operational efficiency.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties.

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior.
