A CNC Machine Operator performs functions such as loading, unloading, and adjusting the machine and equipment.  The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for producing machined parts, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.  On-The -Job training includes working under the direct supervision of a skilled operator and learing to recognize when the machine is operatiing efficiently and effectively.  One measure of machine efficiency is run time, or the time it takes to produce a part.  A measure of effectiveness is noted based on the quality of the product coming out of the machine.  The amount of time spent working directly with a trainer and is dependent upon knowledge and skill level.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Abides by all Standard Operating Procedures and processes
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations
• Adheres to production standards and specifications and to quality assurance procedures
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD& T}
• Sets-up lathes by adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, and stops

``` - Maintains specifications by observing grooving, cutting, including turning, facing, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting ma/functions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and replacing worn tools
