SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Responsible for a variety of QA testing and administrative duties in support of the QA & Sanitation Manager and the Lab/QA Tech staff to insure compliance with all customer specifications, internal requirements and regulatory compliance for food safety and quality, in accordance with Campbell's Snacks strategic plan and Campbell's Snacks mission, vision and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of tests including Environmental Swabbing, Water Testing and others at frequencies as directed

  • Performs calibration of QA testing equipment/instruments in the lab and in the production and packaging areas at various frequencies as directed

  • Maintains the Hold Log, entering and updating data in Innatrack, provides Hold Log updates as directed

  • Verifies completion and accuracy of QA process check paperwork, including Cleaning/Allergen/Changeover Checklists, Metal Detector Records, Magnet/Sifter Logs, Yeast Control Logs, Packaging and QA Audit forms, Hold Log

  • Reviews QA process check procedures for compliance

  • Develops documents, specifications and procedures under the direction of the QA & Sanitation Manager and Director of Product Development & Culinary Science

  • Provides GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Training for new hires and updates for existing employees; also Provides SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) Training of QA Techs

  • Verifies accuracy of COA's (Certificates of Analysis) on incoming materials, reports inaccuracies to the QA & Sanitation Manager for disposition

  • Maintains the organization and inventory of the product Retention samples

  • Collects microbiological samples, submits samples for analysis by and follows-up with outside testing services, reports results to QA & Sanitation Manager

  • Performs deep sampling of held items, analyzes results and reports results to QA & Sanitation Manager.

  • Conducts Taste Panels using company personnel and records, analyzes and reports results to the QA & Sanitation Manager and the Product Development staff

  • Serves as a temporary back-up for the QA Techs when additional or replacement help is needed (see QA Tech job description for duties that may be performed in this back-up role)

  • Performs a variety of administrative duties at the direction of the QA & Sanitation Manager as needed

  • Coordinates the activities of temporary contract workers used in the QA Lab under the direction of the QA & Sanitation Manager.
