General Summary:

The Marketing Category Manager, Snacks is responsible for designing and implementing category and brand strategy, and lead business strategic plans as well as annual planning and execution to achieve short-term and long-term results aligned with LATAM strategies and portfolio roles.

Accountable for P&L and overall brand performance results through forward looking equity building, innovation and demand creation within the different brands and strategic commercial partners. As equity keeper and business developer, you will lead, set priorities and engage cross-functional partners towards key strategic initiatives linked to the brand / business performance goals, with responsibility for market gap identification, commercialization and go-to-market launch planning for key initiatives in multiple geographies. The leader in this role is also responsible for developing marketing talent.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership – Develop marketing strategy and rationale on brand equity as well as business fundamentals to set future vision and drive growth of market share, revenue and EBIT aligned to business goals. Develop and transform consumer insights into meaningful and actionable plans, contributing with key inputs to SP, AOP and MBR for Snacks. Set a portfolio strategy to meet different market and consumer needs in multiple geographies.

  • Brand Equity Management – As Equity keeper, owns and leads cross-functional team, agency partners and strategic commercial partners on several initiatives and processes to ensure consistent expression of brand equity in all aspects of brand behavior including communication, pricing and innovation. Work with agency partners to develop and execute creative strategies, marketing programs, and corresponding tactics. Design and build key initiatives in partnership with Sales and strategic partners.

  • Business Planning – Lead the development, drive execution and track the implementation of brands plans to achieve business results with cross-functional teams and strategic commercial partners. Give brand inputs to monthly IBP process. Assure ongoing ownership of business performance tracking and results. Drive business growth with relevant analysis and insights including portfolio strategy and pricing. Monitor KPIs and provide financial impact to determine opportunities for growth in partnership with different stakeholders. Build, prioritize and execute business plans within brands/portfolios/geographies/partners. Manage consumer and shopper budget, defining resource prioritization within multiple markets. Place orders and make approvals in the company financial system.

  • Innovation & Commercialization – Develop new multi-year innovation platforms and manage through launch. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and on-budget. Communicate project status, issues, and opportunities to the broader organization.

  • Organizational Leadership – Be the primary stakeholder responsible for the brand including key decision-making issues. Gain brand alignment with upper management on key initiatives.

Job Complexity:

  • This position will require ability to drive brand and business growth agenda and proactively anticipate obstacles, demonstrating the flexibility to seek alternative solutions to keep brand and business on track.

  • The ability to extract relevant information to draw meaningful insights and conclusions and make tactical business decisions using sound judgment, analysis and business / financial perspective is essential.

  • The position requires the ability to deal with complexity, leading the business growth through Strategic Commercial Partners, Distributors and Co-Manufacturers in different locations across LATAM. It involves interacting with several different functional areas across LATAM and Corporate HQ including Sales, Research & Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Purchasing, Legal and Government Regulations and Agency Partners.

  • This position requires the ability to multi-task keeping various brand initiatives and projects on track while completing monthly budget projections and other general marketing and analytical tasks. Strong collaboration and communication skills will be required to engage a diverse team and ensure proper alignment across all markets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/BA required; MBA preferred

  • Years of relevant experience: 6+ years of brand/product management marketing

  • Food and Beverage experience; hybrid operational business model experience preferred

  • Must include innovation and trade marketing experience

  • Proven problem solving and business management experience

  • Ability to lead, motivate and collaborate across a cross-functional team of stakeholders (internal and external)

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within tight timeframes in a dynamic working environment

  • Ability to influence stakeholders, drive decisions and execution (internal and external)

  • Strong analytical skills and business/financial acumen

  • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish

Travel:

  • Position based in USA

  • Business travel required, 30-50% in LATAM and Caribbean. Occasional in North America
