Direct Wire & Cable Inc. Quality Analyst in Denver, Pennsylvania

Job description

Direct Wire & Cable is seeking a Quality Analyst to join our team! As a part of our amazing team, you will work closely with different departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines at Direct Wire.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate laboratory testing equipment and perform product testing, including daily inspection of production samples.
  • Conduct in-process and routine quality inspections, as well as machine/work-center process audits.
  • Assist with the calibration of QC lab equipment.
  • Maintain the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) library.
  • Develop quality-related standard operating procedures (SOPs), work/technical instructions, and data sheets.
  • Support the development of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality and safety for personnel and products. Report any deviations or quality issues to management.
  • Create and track/report UL and CSA labels for monthly/quarterly submission reporting.
  • Document quality and nonconformance issues according to the Quality Management System (including Red Tag, Nonconformance, and Corrective Action procedures).
  • Assist sales and customer service by addressing technical questions and customer requests.
  • Investigate customer complaints and returned materials related to potential quality issues.
  • Support regulatory submissions and audits by performing testing and providing technical input.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques such as process mapping, the 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of root cause analysis.
  • Generate 8-D investigations and collaborate with team members to close actions.
  • Promote and actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Analyze and report data related to key process and improvement projects.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and 5 years of experience in a Quality organization preferred. Trade school aceptable.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Quality Analyst, Quality Technician or Quality related role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or wire & cable industry preferred.
  • Experience with AUTO CAD a plus
  • Yellow belt certification a plus
  • Ability to read, write and interpret routine work instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret UL standards a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean concepts and KAIZEN events
  • Knowledge of QMS principles and ISO certification
  • Must be able to travel on occasion.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel Outlook)
