Description of Job

The Work Unit: The Application Support and Improvement Specialist is responsible for managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings within the application, ensuring that access levels are appropriate and maintained. Additionally, this position assists users in troubleshooting any problems they encounter with the application and resolving technical issues efficiently. This position is also responsible for acting as a liaison between users and system developers to customize the application to meet specific user or organizational needs, such as configuring workflows, creating custom reports, or adjusting settings accordingly. All user support related processes are well documented and maintained to be up to date.

The Position: TThe Application Support and Improvement Specialist predominantly concentrates on managing the front end of any application owned by OEPR Medical Operations, which involves a spectrum of responsibilities. They tailor and fine-tune the user interface to align with user expectations and needs, ensuring it remains intuitive and accessible. Moreover, they optimize the performance of front-end elements to enhance user experience, promptly addressing any reported issues to maintain seamless functionality. Collaborating closely with users and developers, they assist in the integration of new features and design enhancements, ensuring compatibility across various browsers and devices. This position work with the team’s data analysts to track front-end analytics and user feedback, utilizing this data to identify areas for improvement and implement iterative changes aimed at continually enhancing the application's usability and visual appeal.

What you will be doing:

  • Customize and refine the user interface of OEPR Medical Operations' applications to meet user expectations and improve usability.

  • Ensure users can access applications at the level they require and maintain accurate user access.

  • Ensure accessibility standards are met, working with developers to ensure the front-end interface is intuitive and easy to navigate for all users.

  • Optimize front-end performance by improving user experience.

  • Address reported front-end issues promptly, so that developers can begin troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to maintain seamless functionality.

  • Collaborate with users and developers to integrate new features and design enhancements into the front end of applications.

  • Work with data analysts to track front-end analytics and gather user feedback for insights into areas needing improvement.

  • Implement iterative changes based on analytics and user feedback to enhance the usability and visual appeal of the application's front end.

  • Performing quality assurance activities such as working with data analysts to develop maintenance reports and testing new designs and/or features.

  • Improvements are identified by this position and solutions are developed with the help of stakeholders. Improvements are focused on enhancements that streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.

  • All new improvements are well documented and current procedures are maintained throughout changes.

  • During times of National, State, Regional, or Locally declared all-hazards emergencies, immediate health and safety as well as disaster behavioral health support and services are necessary.

  • Acts as a resource for all aspects of health and medical response under the direction of leadership.

Two (2) years of professional experience in public health, informatics or health systems, external technology systems coordination and stakeholder engagement, training and education.

OR

OPTION 2

A combination of related education in public health, informatics or health systems, external technology systems or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must be willing to:

  • A pre-employment background check

  • Travel for education and technical assistance support for emergency systems to local and regional hospital preparedness and public health preparedness partners

  • Be expected to work and/or remain at their worksite in delayed start, early release, or closure situations.

  • Be available in the event of an emergency, (e.g., bio-terrorist attack, chemical attack, disease outbreak or all hazards) and be required to report to work immediately at the regular or alternate location. During this time, travel restrictions may be in place.

  • Be available in the event of the activation of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and be required to report to work immediately at the regular or alternate location. During this time, travel restrictions may be in place.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant years of state of Colorado service

  • Experience providing communication to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Programs and databases

  • Experience with clinical workflow

  • Experience gathering relevant information; identifying and analyzing problems; and using critical thinking and problem solving skills to arrive at conclusions.

  • Experience administering, planning, organizing and overseeing projects

  • Experience Communicating between technical and non-technical groups
