General Summary

This position is primarily responsible for leading our third party provider (Accenture) and working collaboratively with five Trade and Deduction Senior Analyst direct reports to manage the trade and non-trade deduction processes while strengthening the control environment and increasing efficiencies by researching issues, identifying root causes and implementing process improvements and pushing for standardization across business units where appropriate.

This role is responsible for the total US Foodservice deduction balances and for the non-trade portion of the US Retail, Snacks and Export deduction balances, partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to define and meet assigned metric targets. This role is responsible for setting direction and managing supplier performance of the services and ensuring fulfillment of service level requirements and metrics as well as adherence to Campbell’s policies and procedures.

Additionally, this role will have responsibility for resolving critical business issues identified by the Senior Deduction and Trade Payment Analysts and/or the supplier. Throughout this work, this position will develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with the North American Supply Chain organization, Campbell’s US customer base, US Sales teams and Finance. The role reports into the Senior Manager – Deductions Management and Outsource Governance and may be responsible for both outsourced and retained work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • 40% Manage customer deductions process, providing governance and oversight and managing issue escalation as appropriate. Strict adherence to policy and process while incorporating key controls is required. Effectively manage and lead team to achieve all deduction balance targets. Conduct root cause analyses, identify trends and lead the solutions effort to develop alternate strategies and tactics. Identify key opportunity areas for cost avoidance and process improvements .

  • 15% Collaborate with customers and internal functions on key opportunity areas such as deduction validation and processing, process gaps, service levels, and other areas as assigned. Responsible for providing key business stakeholders with periodic reviews of open deduction balances, recommend solutions and work cross functionally US Sales and customers to drive improvements.

  • 20%Build organizational capability, including direction setting, development and performance management for direct reports and outsourced team. Ensure team is highly functioning and adheres to processes and policies.

  • 10%Manage reporting and analysis of internal and supplier-contracted service level metrics. Work closely with the third party provider (Accenture) to ensure business processes are properly executed and adequately controlled.

  • 10%Perform monthly SOX controls and manage routine audit requests from Sox and PWC Teams deductions. Perform daily review of request to expense (Write-Off Deductions) from directs and third-party provider (Accenture). Provide oversight to the quarterly Walmart Settlement process and 180 Sunset Policy.

  • 5%Develop and ensure implementation of specific project plans, policy and procedures and change management procedures, including identifying opportunities to standardize processes across businesses where appropriate.

Complexity & Scope

  • Demonstrate good business judgment by knowing how to prioritize critical tasks for the team during very busy demand patterns.

  • Knowledge of financial controls/acumen and understanding of Sales and Supply Chain's programs, policies and processes.

  • Analyze data and translate into actionable insights. Must use knowledge of the organization and support systems to analyze and evaluate alternative solutions to respond to internal and external customer requests, identifying and minimizing the company’s exposure.

  • Develop and implement specific project plans, policy and procedures and change management procedures as needed

  • Provide strategic direction for the team and must possess clear verbal and written communication to explain issues and propose solutions to customers, sales, finance teams or managers.

  • Responsible for evaluating existing processes and identifying opportunities to standardize and streamline processes to eliminate inefficiencies and excess costs, working with peers across the organization to gain alignment and execute change.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Length of Experience:5+ years of relevant experience

  • Certifications: None

  • Licenses/Registrations: None

  • Must possess strong leadership skills

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite Programs and possess an ability to quickly learn new systems. Experience with SAP, AFS TradePro, envision a plus

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through to resolution on issues

  • Good business perspective skills with the ability to look at problems or projects through the eyes of the customers, competitors, coworkers and managers

  • Action-oriented with strong prioritization capabilities and a proven ability for analytical and problem solving skills, direction setting, and organizational alignment skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively to provide direction and establish value-added working relationships with clients, vendors and peers

  • Ability to execute and deliver within diverse global cultures and resources

Working Conditions

Normal office environment with minimal (5-10%) travel.

Some holiday and weekend coverage required throughout the year, especially at fiscal quarter closes (Oct, Jan, Apr, and Jul).
