The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Project Management Specialist who implements, manages, and coordinates project controls to include schedules, contracts, budgets, expenses, and associated processes and procedures for the BRRD facility under the direction of the project manager to support safety, environmental compliance and production performance. This position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Project management tasks of inspecting jobsites daily, communicating with contractors on job progress and issues daily. Reviewing contractor timesheets weekly. Review any proposed scope changes as needed.
  2. Communicating with operations leaders daily regarding area project updates and receive and incorporate feedback regarding operational needs and opinion on previous projects in their work area.
  3. Communication weekly with management and accounting regarding updates on project status, schedules and cost.
  4. Partner with purchasing to request for quotes by gathering project information (engineering studies, drawings, equipment specifications, etc.) and provide vendor walkthroughs. Complete application for expenditures.
  5. Other duties or projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in Management, Business, Administration, or Project Management preferred
  • Minimum 5-years of relevant work experience
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent training preferred
  • Valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office suite, Adaptive (budgeting), AutoCAD (drafting), and PeopleSoft (requisition). Prefer MS Projects certification.

  • Basic understanding of the operational flow of any department that a project takes place in to recognize engineering requirements (structural civil, electrical, etc.).

  • Advanced communication skills to interact with vendors, management and operations.

  • Proficient in reading blue prints.

  • Advanced project management skills including: prioritization, delegation, problem solving, and decision making.

  • Ability to use project management best practices to make final decision on estimation of timing, sequence, and duration of project tasks, track project tasks, progress and schedules.

Environmental Conditions, Physical and Lifting Requirements:

  • Regular use of computer and telephone. Occasionally operate over the road vehicle.
  • Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to a respirator, hearing protection, safety toe shoes and a respirator. Occasionally exposed to ou door weather conditions wet, humid (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather) conditions, working at heights with fall protection and work near moving mechanical parts. Regularly quiet office environmental and occasionally moderate operations noise.
  • Frequently sitting, talking, and hearing. Occasionally standing, walking and driving. Normal attention level.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
