Job Summary

Join the team making EVs go farther, artificial intelligence more efficient, and industrial systems smarter! We work with cutting-edge automotive manufacturers, industrial giants, and alternative energy pioneers. As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a flexible team with critical roles at every stage of product development, from defining new products to validating them against market and design requirements, and ultimately promoting them through thought leadership. To be successful in these roles, our Systems Engineers become experts in our target applications, markets, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain application and market knowledge through academic literature reviews, competitive analysis, product teardowns, customer visits, etc.

• Collaborate with IC designers, product managers, and application engineers to steer the roadmap and define new products.

• Develop automated hardware and software to validate new products against design and market requirements.

• Perform PCB schematic capture and assist with layout and assembly.

• Develop and debug software and firmware.

• Oversee and administer automated bench testing and characterization of new products.

• Analyze and visualize measurement data.

• Collaborate with product and test engineers developing manufacturing tests for new products.

• Write technical content such as datasheet topics, whitepapers, and articles.

• Present at technical conferences, symposiums, trade shows, and customer sites.

• Create innovative and exciting product demonstrations highlighting key differentiators, competitive advantages, etc., for use at various events.

• Collaborate with design partners to develop, test, and promote reference designs using Skyworks’ products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

• Insatiable curiosity to independently learn and test new technologies and applications.

• Detail-oriented and thorough researcher with solid reporting skills.

• Self-starter with excellent time management skills

• Creative and strategic thinker able to envision new products and features.

• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools.

• Analog and digital circuit analysis skills.

• Experience with programming or scripting languages (C, Python, etc.)

• Experienced technical and persuasive writing skills.

• Comfortable presenting to large audiences with any level of knowledge and experience

  Desired Experience and Skills

• Experience in the automotive industry.

• Experience in the design or testing of power electronics.

• Experience in motor controls.

• Experience designing and programming for FPGAs and CPLDs.

• Experience interacting directly with customers.

• Experience contributing to product definition or marketing.

  The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $61,600 - $111,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
