About our opportunity: The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Inventory Specialist in the Concession division of the Community and Regional Entertainment Facilities Department. This position is responsible for maintaining, receiving, storing, and issuing materials, supplies, tools, and equipment for CREF, to include the Harrah's Cherokee Center.
What you’ll be doing:
Maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate materials for departmental activities.
Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and supplies.
Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure proper shelving, storage, labeling, and rotation of inventory.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of warehouse and storage areas.
Assist with equipment maintenance and routine repairs as needed.
Communicate with supervisors, coworkers, vendors, and the public to coordinate work activities and resolve issues.
Process documentation associated with inventory management operations.

About you:
We know your time is valuable. Applicants who meet the following minimum requirements or have comparable experience and/or education will be considered:
High school diploma or GED
Vocational or technical training in inventory management or related field
One year of experience in inventory management or related field
Valid North Carolina driver’s license
Forklift certification

Other things to know:
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week. Hours vary depending on event schedule.
Tasks may require the ability to exert moderate physical effort and involve prolonged standing, climbing, and lifting of moderately heavy objects (12-20 pounds). Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
